現在當家長的人,以前在學校都學過英文,但現在大多數人都成為英語文盲。現在的學生,在學校也都有學英文,但以後大多數人也都將成為英語文盲。

 

台灣英語教育有問題,這用膝蓋想也知道。美國小學程度的英文,台灣大多數人可以學好幾十年還學不完。台灣人學中文為何不會成為中文文盲?因為小學程度的中文,我們不會學好幾十年還學不完。

             3. 應該-----  expect or require be supposed to V

  It is supposed to snow tonight. 今晚應該會下雪

  She is supposed to be here now.

  You’re supposed to stop your car at a red light.

  When is the movie supposed to start?

  I’m supposed to go to bed before ten, but I usually don’t.

  You weren’t supposed to tell her.

                 4. be supposed to be something : 應該是;被認為是

  I’ve never read it, but it’s supposed to be a good book.

  Latin America is supposed to be a pretty inexpensive place to travel.

              conj. 假設;假定;如果supposing        

  Suppose I were rich, would you marry me then?

  Suppose someone found out about our plan. What would you do?

  Just suppose that we were able to fly.

 

rancor [}r$HkQ] n. 深仇;積怨 bitterness        (英式= rancour)

  Both felt rancor toward each other long after their divorce.

  She answered her accusers calmly and without rancor.

  In the end, the debate created a degree of rancor among the committee members.

  a rancorous debate        //         a rancorous legal battle

 

divisive [dD}va0s0v] adj. 造成不和的;引起爭議的;導致分裂的        (divide)

  She believes that unemployment is socially divisive.                 (division)

  divisive issues like abortion
